Virgo Season

From the pages of my September ‘Find Your Zen’ Newsletter, I’m reflecting on the power of Virgo season and how you can take advantage of this time. Given it’s my Birthday month, I’m also sharing some of my biggest life lessons that I’d want to tell my younger self. Have a read and let me know what lands for you in the comments.

It’s officially Virgo season! So what does this mean for you?

This season is a period of transition, signifying the perfect time to get your life back on track. It's rooted in nurturing and grounding your relationship with yourself and with the world around you. I encourage you to make this the season in which you nurture both your emotional and physical health. Consider some of the conversations, doctor appointments, or activities that you've been wanting to tackle.

Rather than avoiding these things, putting them off or waiting for the perfect time, what's one thing you can do to take action right now?

This pandemic has given me a lot of time to reflect on turning another year older - yes, you heard that right. It's my Birthday month!! As I ground myself for this season of transition & celebration, I'm honoring the journey that has led me to this point and I'm cultivating gratitude for life. I get to live new moments and create a life and legacy that I love. It's in this spirit of grounding & gratitude that I'd like to share three things I'd tell my younger self about the life lessons I've learned (and in some cases I'm still learning).

MY TOP THREE LIFE LESSONS:

  1. Live your life with purpose: Get clear on your values and be intentional in everything you do. Every day you have on this earth is an opportunity to share your talents, wisdom and gifts with the world. Use your life to create a legacy you're proud of. Living a purpose-driven life (rather than a results-driven life) will help you see that you already possess all that you could ever want. It will encourage you to become a giver and to rid yourself of expectation, worry or resentment. Whenever you feel lost, remember your purpose and choose to let every attitude, thought, belief and action be driven by it. Doing so will lead to a life in flow.

  2. Plan to fail something new every day: Someone once gave me this advice and it's lived with me ever since. You're never going to feel fully ready and things will rarely be perfectly lined up. Life is way too short to allow your mask of perfectionism to keep you from being authentic to yourself and to your Vision. Stop waiting for things to be perfect in order to take your shot. Start that business, launch that website, say I love you first. Plan to take risks every single day, and especially when the fear or doubt begins to creep in. The things that we fear most are the things we must do in order to grow. The alternative to this is to stay still and I, for one, do not wish to get to the end of my life and wonder, "what if?"

  3. Learn how to let go and find your zen: This was a really difficult lesson to learn, and I sometimes feel like I'm still learning it. Forgiveness is not about condoning what happened in the past. It's not about being right or wrong. It's about accepting what happened and acknowledging everything that I did that led up to that event. It's also about finding the benefit in what happened because it has ultimately led me to where I am now. Releasing it means that I can leave it in the past and be present to life in the now. You'll never experience inner peace until you learn to let go and you don't need anyone else to give yourself this type of closure. Re-write the narrative and grant yourself inner peace - for you and by you.

This month, ground yourself in your own lessons, make time to appreciate your journey, and be present to the legacy you'd like to create. 💖
