When you do it right, setting SMART goals for yourself can create a single-pointed focus that aligns with your Vision for your life. This is the first step in manifesting your desired outcomes with ease and grace.
Here are a few quick tips you can utilize to set new goals when you’re ready:
Consider your overall Vision for your life and how you can align your goals to support that Vision
Setting short-term goals for one, three and six month increments, will support you in creating focus, clarity, motivation and purpose
Writing unrealistic goals that lack specifics can open space for roadblocks that get in the way of you having the outcome you want
Utilize the SMART method to increase the likelihood of reaching your goals.
Follow this quick breakdown of the SMART method to get yourself started:
𝐒pecific ➡ Get clear on what you want to achieve and why! Who is involved, What is your desired outcome, Why do you want to achieve this goal, Where will you do it, When will you do it, and Which requirements or constraints do you have?
𝐌easurable ➡ How will you measure your progress? If you experience difficulty coming up with a way to track your results consider utilizing a scale of 1-10, which will allow you to measure your starting point and where you'd like to go from there.
𝐀chievable ➡ Your goals should be attainable, realistic, and at the same time they should be somewhat challenging. You want to push your comfort level in a way that serves growth and stretches you.
𝐑elevant ➡ Is your goal consistent with what's important to you? Will it help you reach your Vision for your life?
𝐓ime-Bound ➡ Setting a "By When" for your goals, or a specific day/month/year in which you will complete the goal, helps to establish a sense of urgency and empowers you to manage your time more efficiently.
I use this method every time I establish new goals for myself and my clients. In fact, this week I’ve set a personal goal to empower 7 women every week for the remainder of the year - that means I get to open up possibilities for 77 new connections before the end of the year!
